Guest Post From Weblo Thomas Maher about the Klondike

When we got to the Klondike we got to our sled, got it weighed and got a view points for having all the equipment in the right place. We said hello to the Boy Scouts because they were near by and we would be sharing their cabin that night.
We then got our orders as to which station we had to go to first, luckily it was near by where we started. Our leaders James and Gavin led our sled even though we slipped and slid on the ice from time to time. It was a team effort at every station so we could get the most points. Everyone took turns doing different things at each station. Willie and I cooked for one station. By the time it was lunchtime we all had a case of being snow blinded by the sun reflecting on the snow.
Before the awards we raced sleds, I was head dog and we won. Then at the award ceremony we won the EAST POLE and fastest sled.
Back at the cabin we joked around and ate all the food our families had prepared. We sat around the camp fire late into the night doing skits and jokes. When lights were out and it was time for bed a Scout named Louis played some funny jokes. I continued to talk to James and then we finally went to sleep.
We had a great pancake breakfast and cleaned up. As I was walking to the exit I tripped and fell on top of our fastest sled. Luckily Mr. Cahill was able to fix it. My dad came to get me and I told him about my great adventure on the way home in the car. When I got home I slept for 5 hours because of the great day and night I had just had at the Klondike.
